What Kind of Headset Should I Use?

When it comes to headsets, we use the motto, “the simpler the better.”

If possible, avoid Bluetooth and USB headsets—they tend to have more issues with compatibility with sound drivers on your PC or Mac.

A headset that uses a 3.5mm jack rather than USB. will connect more reliably and you’ll have greater success connecting them to WebRTC-based audio, which turboDial uses.

To test whether your headset will likely work with turboDial, please refer to this site to troubleshoot your audio configuration:

3.5mm-jack headset recommendations:

  • Apple EarPods (Amazon $20.00) – This is the headset we use personally, plugging it into the 3.5mm audio jacks of our PCs and Macs.
  • Jabra Evolve 40 UC Stereo (MSRP $109) – These headphones are not only comfortable, but also include two types of noise cancellation technology.
  • Plantronics Blackwire 325 (MSRP $79) – Noise-canceling microphone and hi-fi stereo sound at a competitive price-point.
  • theBoom Pro3 (MSRP $235) – The Pro3 is sturdy and utilizes patented noise canceling technology for agents working in a noisy environment.

Please note: Although some of these models may come with a USB adapter, we recommend using the 3.5mm jack instead. We don’t recommend Bluetooth or USB headsets as they are more likely to encounter driver-incompatibility issues.
