Outbound Calls: turboDial creates a single Note Record for every outbound call that is answered and attaches it to the contact record. Calls that are hung up while they are still ringing do not result in a Note Record.
Inbound Calls: If you have the “Enhanced Inbound” feature then turboDial also creates a Call Note for each inbound call.
SMS Text Messages: turboDial creates a single Note Record for every outbound and inbound SMS text message and attaches it to the contact record.
These Note Records leave a record of every SMS and call you make – something that is not possible to do with Tags. Use these Note Records to track and manage the progress and activity for your calling campaigns, and use Tags to track and manage the results of your calling campaigns.
When you use these note record titles in the “Main Search” field of a Task Note Report you don’t need to use the full title. For example, to match all outbound calls you can just use “turboDial: Call”.
Dial Attempts
A Dial Attempt is a call made that isn’t answered by a person or machine.
- turboDial: Manual Dial Attempt
- turboDial: Dynamic Dial Attempt
- turboDial: Power Dial Attempt
Outbound Calls (except Dynamic Dial)
Every automatic note record that turboDial creates for outbound connected calls has a title that begins “turboDial: Call”. (Exceptions, see here for Dynamic Dial calls).
Here are the possible note titles:
- turboDial: Call from PC
- turboDial: Call from PC – Left Message
- turboDial: Call from PC – Recorded
- turboDial: Call from PC – Left Message – Recorded
- turboDial: Call from Phone
- turboDial: Call from Phone – Left Message
- turboDial: Call from Phone – Recorded
- turboDial: Call from Phone – Left Message – Recorded
Note that for outbound calls the ‘PC’ term in the note title is referring to the turboDial softphone.
Inbound Calls
If you have the Enhanced Inbound feature then turboDial also creates automatic note records with these titles:
- turboDial: Inbound Call to Phone
- turboDial: Inbound Call to Phone – Recorded
- turboDial: Inbound Call to Softphone
- turboDial: Inbound Call to Softphone – Recorded
If you have the Enhanced Call Handling feature then turboDial also creates automatic call notes with these titles:
- turboDial: Inbound Call to Phone – Transferred to Hold Queue
- turboDial: Inbound Call to Phone – Recorded – Transferred to Hold Queue
- turboDial: Inbound Call to Softphone – Transferred to Hold Queue
- turboDial: Inbound Call to Softphone – Recorded – Transferred to Hold Queue
Calls with Inbound Actions
If you have the Hosted Voice upgrade then turboDial can also create automatic note records with these titles:
- turboDial: Inbound Call to Voice Mail
- turboDial: Inbound Call to Queue
- turboDial: Inbound Call to Auto-Attendant
- turboDial: Inbound Call to Find-Me
SMS Text Messages
Every SMS has an automatic note record with a title that begins “turboDial: SMS”:
- turboDial: SMS Inbound To +CCNNNXXXYYYY
- turboDial: SMS Outbound From +CCNNNXXXYYYY
Where +CCNNNXXXYYYY is the phone number the SMS was sent to or from.
SMS text messages sent using the Campaign SMS add-on will have a note record title like this:
- turboDial: SMS Outbound From +CCNNNXXXYYYY (auto) – delivered
Manually-sent SMS text messages will have a note record title like this:
- turboDial: SMS Outbound From +CCNNNXXXYYYY (manual) – delivered
An SMS that fails will have the tag “undelivered” appended:
- turboDial: SMS Outbound From +CCNNNXXXYYYY (auto) – undelivered
turboDial: SMS Outbound From +CCNNNXXXYYYY (manual) – undelivered
In that case you should view the body of the Note record to identify the Twilio error code.
Ringless Voice Mails
If you send a Ringless Voice Mail an automatic note record wi created with a title that begins “turboDial: Ringless Voice Mail”:
- turboDial: Ringless Voice Mail To +1NNNXXXYYYY (auto)
- turboDial: Ringless Voice Mail To +1NNNXXXYYYY (auto) – delivered
- turboDial: Ringless Voice Mail To +1NNNXXXYYYY (auto) – failed
Manual Notes
If you use the Call Outcome pane in turboDial to save a manually typed notes when there has been no phone call, the manual note will have a title like this:
